Overseeding pasture
Good grass is the most important component in every ration. To maintain the proportion of good grasses and thus the protein yield, it is important to re-sow or sow in a timely manner. Late summer is the ideal period for this. Only when there is moisture in the top 5 cm does reseeding/overseeding have a chance of success. By rolling the sown grass you ensure contact with the soil and guarantee the moisture supply from the subsoil.
Timely overseeding is preferred; the costs are lower (grassland renewal is not necessary) and the protein yield remains at the same level. In addition, overseeding has a positive effect on soil fertility, soil life and carrying capacity.
